Poster Presentations – General Information and Deadlines

Abstract Submission

Abstracts must be submitted by 11th August 2024. All submissions will be reviewed by the symposium Scientific Committee, and the authors will be notified of the outcome, i.e. acceptance or non-acceptance for poster presentation, by 30th August 2024 the latest.

Abstract guidelines

  • Topics:
    o Infant gut and microbiota
    o Women’s health and microbiota
    o Brain health and microbiota
    o The gut-organ axis
    o Gut metabolism
    o Probiotics
  • Must be written in English
  • Should be succinct and no longer than 350 words
  • Should include:
    o Title
    o Complete names of the authors, affiliation, and address(es). Please designate one author as the contact person as well as  the presenting author in case of submission as flash talk presentation.
    o Background/Introduction
    o Methods
    o Results
    o Discussion and Conclusion
    o Funding and/or conflict of interest (if not applicable, indicate “none”)
  • Microsoft Word file is preferred
  • Submit electronically as an e-mail attachment to info@yakultsymposium.com
  • By submitting an abstract, the authors acknowledge that their work will be published in the abstract book which will be distributed to all the participants.
  • The deadline for submission of abstracts is 11th August 2024.

Poster Presentation

All the accepted abstracts will be invited for poster presentation in the symposium. Prepare your posters according to the guidelines below.

To recognize outstanding research work, the Scientific Committee will acknowledge 3 posters with an award (€200) on the second day of the symposium (11th October 2024).

Poster guidelines
• Posters should be made in 95 cm wide x 120 cm high / A0 format.
• Each poster will be allocated a number that will be indicated in the abstract book. Mounting material will be available on-site.
• The poster area will be open during the symposium hours. Posters must be removed before the end of the event.

Flash Talks

Five abstracts from accepted submissions will be selected for the “Flash Talks” of which session will take place on the first day of the symposium (10th October 2024).
The authors must indicate their preference: ‘Poster with Flash Talk’ or ‘Poster Only’ at the online registration.
Please note that choosing ‘Poster with Flash Talk’ does not ensure that you will be selected. The selected authors for Flash Talks will be notified by 20th September 2024.

Flash Talk guidelines
• Each Flash Talk should last 5 minutes maximum (+2 min for questions).
• Prepare a maximum of 6 slides (16:9 ratio) for this presentation.
