Prof. Jürgen Schrezenmeir

JS obtained medical education at the University Würzburg and worked at the Department of Biochemistry, at the Medical Clinic, University of Würzburg, at the Medical Clinic, University of Mainz, at the MRI, Kiel and Karlsruhe, and at the Clinical Research Center Kiel with scientific interests in functional food, pro- and prebiotics.

He has a board in internal medicine, gastroenterology and endocrinology, published > 300 and was awarded: Max Rubner Prize by the German Society of Nutrition; Nordisk Prize (as co-author) and Poster Prize by the German Diabetes Society; COPP-Prize by the German Society of Osteology (as co-author); H. & L. Schilling-professorship by the German Association of Foundations.

He is professor for internal medicine at the Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz.
